IPS partners with Dr. Reddy’s for a pharmaceutical project

Industrial Promotion Services (IPS) collaborated with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, a research-based global pharmaceutical company with a presence in more than 66 countries globally. Dr Reddy’s is a vertically integrated company with a product portfolio of more than 250 products focussed on therapeutic areas of Cardiology, Diabetes, CNS and Oncology.
Dr. Reddys will serve as a technology and strategic partner for the East African Combined Pharmaceutical Center (EACPC), an IPS group pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Kenya, that will produce products for addressing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Oncology.
The EACPC and IPS affiliates in the region will commercialise these products in the East African Community (EAC) countries and intend to gradually scale their operations to other countries in the region. This strategic collaboration aims to provide access to affordable healthcare products to patients in the last mile in the region while maintaining global quality standards.
In line with IPS’s commitment to achieving Net Zero, the EACPC’s new facility in Kenya has been designed and is being constructed to meet the IFC EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) standards as well as certification requirements. The facility will comply with the standards set by the European Union (EU) and the World Health Organization (WHO) prequalification program.
This partnership represents a significant step towards supporting the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goal, aligning with SDG3 (Good Health and Well-being) and improving access to essential medicines and healthcare products in the region to reach and positively impact more than 200 million lives in East Africa by 2030.
